This is a Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch incident report, released in 2023, about an unidentified aerial phenomenon on December 27, 2023. United Airlines flight UAL348, a Boeing 787 flying from Kahului to Chicago O'Hare, reported it along with two other aircraft, NKS2804 and AAL2014. The pilots were eastbound at 41,000 feet, 30 nautical miles north of Salina, and saw two bright white lights directly ahead that moved in circles and kept closing and widening the gap between them. Air traffic control radar did not show the phenomenon, and the report is marked closed.
