This is a Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch incident report, released in 2023 by the Department of Transportation. It covers an unidentified aerial phenomenon reported on April 25, 2023 by the pilot of a general aviation Cessna 172 flying out of and back to Pensacola (PNS). At 1,500 feet, 15 nautical miles northwest of PNS, the pilot saw what looked like two black, basketball-sized balloons with wires. The report carries the secondary code 'balloon' and is marked closed.
