This is a Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch incident report dated February 11, 2023, with a status of closed. American Airlines flight AAL403 was an A320 flying from Denver to Philadelphia. Its crew reported an unidentified aerial phenomenon off the left side while eastbound at FL370 over Iowa City. They described what looked like an aircraft circling at or above their altitude, appearing and disappearing. AMOC noted that a similar report the week before had turned out to be a train of satellites.
