This is a closed Federal Aviation Administration record of an unidentified aerial phenomenon report, released by the Department of Transportation in 2023. It shows that on February 3, 2023, commercial flight SCX8941, a B738 flying from MSP to SKF, reported the phenomenon while southbound at FL340, 60 NM northwest of MCI. The object was identified as a balloon at about FL500, 15 NM west-northwest of RBA. Kansas City Center (ZKC) was the reporting facility.
