This declassified internal email is dated 19 April 1995. It was sent over MS Mail by William H. Leary to Christina L. Funches, with William Danvers, Alan Kreczko and Joseph Sestak among those copied. It replies to a query about how to handle GAO request #2948. Leary writes that the NSC has no records on the 1947 Roswell incident and doubts that anyone on the NSC staff knows anything about it. He adds that any records would most likely be at the Archives.

I can provide most of the answer, and will be happy to draft something if that is the preferred approach. The NSC has no records concerning the 1947 incident at Roswell. And I doubt that anyone on the NSC staff has any "knowledge" of this UFO incident, but Joe Sestak could confirm that. To the extent there are any records, they would most likely be at the Archives.
