This FAA Form 8020-5 aircraft incident record, filed by Jerry Paterson of FAA office AAL-207 and dated January 26, 1987, covers Japan Airlines Flight 1628. The all-cargo Boeing 747 was flying from Keflavik, Iceland to Anchorage, Alaska on November 17, 1986, near Fort Yukon. The captain reported unidentified traffic at his altitude that stayed near the aircraft through a descent and turns. The traffic was seen on weather radar and at times by Anchorage Center and military radar. The attachments include crew interview transcripts, Captain Terauchi's drawing and ATC tapes.
