This is a US Defense Attache intelligence report from Wellington, New Zealand, approved by Colonel Lewis H. Walker, USAF, covering January to February 1968. It is filed under the CIA and dated 2002. It records information volunteered by National Airways Corporation pilot Captain B. L. Cathie, including his forthcoming book "Harmonic 33" and his claim that Auckland air traffic control radar tracked four fast objects on 14 January 1968. The attache describes Cathie as sincere and above average in mathematics, and notes that he is trying to prove an alien master plan.

two U.S. airports at Oakland Airport on the same track as Carnegie Airlines, and he said no, that Civil Aviation personnel had been warned to report any more of these observations. Captain Cathie was advised to submit any additional information he might have. He did, under cover of his letter of 18 January 1968 (attachment No. 1). 2. (C) Public Incident: In February 1968 a second letter with attachments was received from Cathie (attachment No. 2). This effort by Cathie indicates that he is spending an enormous amount of time and effort trying to prove his theory that an overall master plan exists by an alien race - purpose not defined. 3. (C) Comments: Captain Cathie is a lean, wiry New Zealander, with an apparently above average knowledge of mathematics. He has seen several UFOs which he stated could not have been aircraft in the accepted service. He is intensely sincere in his efforts and has convinced a publisher well enough to invest in his book. He stated that Neville Spearman, Publishers (England) were in the final stages of his book. Several thousand copies are to be released in England, New Zealand and the United States.
