This CIA-released item, approved for release on 2003/07/08, is a 1959 mailing from Dr. Leon Davidson of White Plains, New York, addressed to Allen W. Dulles at the Central Intelligence Agency. It is a flyer that advertises a planned serial book called "Flying Saucers: Weapons of the Cold War," to run to 25 chapters, and includes the chapter list and a subscription form. The chapter titles describe the saucer story as psychological warfare shaped by the CIA. The mailing also offers copies of Project Blue Book Special Report No. 14.

TO ALL FLYING SAUCER RESEARCHERS Dr. Leon Davidson, the publisher of the Air Force Project Blue Book Special Report No. 14 and author of numerous articles on Flying Saucers, announces the forthcoming publication of ## FLYING SAUGERS: WEAPONS OF THE COLD WAR This will be a book of 25 chapters, to be published serially, one chapter per month. The chapter titles are listed on the next page. Much of the material has not yet been published anywhere. The book is based on ten years of thorough research, and will contain documentation and references to support the story which is unfolded. It will include letters to the author from principals involved in the saucer saga, including Adamski, Menzel, Ruppelt, Pry, Keyhoe, and T. T. Brown (reember hin?). Letters will be quoted from scientists such as Fred Whipple and Lloyd Berkner, from editors and publishers of saucer magazines all over the world, from Senators, Congressmen, and especially from numerous military officials of all Services, including the Intelligence Agencies. The price of the subscription for the entire series, postpaid, will be $5. Publication will not be undertaken unless a sufficient number of subscriptions has been first obtained, and the number of copies will be limited. Therefore, those who would be interested in this document should fill in and return the enclosed subscription blank at once. In the event publication is not undertaken, the full amount subscribed will be returned. Until January 1, 1960, subscribers may order a copy of the U.S. Air Force Project Blue Book Special Report No. 14 (Second Edition) for only 75 cents additional. (Regular price $1.50.) The format of "Flying Saucers: Weapons of the Cold War" will be spirit duplication on 8.5 x 11 inch paper, punched for standard three hole binders. A suitable binder will be sent with the first chapter. Because of the high cost of publication, only a few copies can be sent gratis. Saucer publishers and clubs will be allowed a suitable discount in lieu of exchange courtesies. Those groups which are hard-pressed financially will be given special consideration if so noted on their subscription forms.
