This is a CIA name trace reply released in 2006 under the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act, part of the file on Friedrich Berger. It answers a May 1957 request from the Munich base and is addressed to the Chief of Base, Munich, with copies to the Chief of Station, Germany, and the Chief of Base, Berlin. It reports what headquarters files show on several identities. For one it found no probable traces, for another it needs more biographic data, and for others it points to existing dossiers and interrogation reports.

Headquarter's files reveal the following information pertaining to Identification of Reference A: A - INERTITY is no probable traces (TW 1842, 15 April 1957 to BALK. E - IDENTITY 21 Further biographic data, giving at least her last name is needed before competent trainee can be run. C - IDENTITY 3: Headquarters has a dossier which should be available between MIS and PCB registry searches. If request to PCB in Reference P cannot be met, we can forward copies of desired correspondence. (NOTE: Most of the traffic on this case is logged O&H/CLV/ORIE/1C1EPROVE.) Sso S/O att to SOFK 1h316, dated 15 January 1957 (Inter- rogation of EXTERNE source, Hans Wolfgang GOLFIMBERGER) which gives further data, past and current on OBJECT, as well as other fellow PO's now residing Munich. D - IBRGHT II is the stapson of the late Emperor William II and the son of Emperor Hermine. Born 1923, dated 21 October 1953, pp 8 and 35 (See Identity File) is a report the sources of which in the new active 1956 agent who could be further deterribed on Subject.
