This is a CIA record of the Director of Central Intelligence's Deputies' Meeting held Thursday, 4 December 1952, attended by General Smith, Dulles, Wisner, Wolf, Amory and Earman. Participants covered project approvals, a cable from a senior representative, and items for the IAC. Mr. Amory briefly discussed preparing an estimate on flying saucers, noting others could not assist because of workload, and the Director asked him to raise the matter at that day's IAC meeting. The release is heavily redacted.
Mr. Amory: *r a. Raised the question of the d.eadline on d, after some discussion, received the Director's approval to presen this to the IAC on 18 December. The Director stated we should send the "other project" along to Mr. Staats. b. Briefly discussed the preparation of anestimate on Flying Saucers and notedthat due to the pressure of work neither ould lend assistance bu was being considered. The Director state that somebody" should get r- and asked Mr. Amory to discuss this matter at today's 'IAC Meeting.
