This Central Intelligence Agency record contains the minutes of a Deputies' Meeting held on Wednesday, 14 January 1953, with Messrs. Dulles, Wisner, Wolf, Becker, Hedden and Earman present. Dulles noted a Log item about a conference on unidentified flying objects and said he wanted to meet briefly with the people attending it. The other items covered the Office of Training paper, reserve officers doing active duty with CIA, Soviet comments on a Washington Post editorial, and a Summary Evaluation paper for the NSC.

Dulles, Wisner, Wolf, Becker, Hedden, Earman Mr. Dulles: a. Noted the item in today's Log concerning the conference on unidentified flying objects and stated he would like the opportunity to meet briefly with the people in attendance. b. Stated that the Director had given him for review a proposed paper on the organization :and functions of the. Office of Training. Mr. olf noted that this paper, if approved, would become a part of CIA Regulation After some discussion, D/DCI asked DD/A to coordinate this paper with Messrs. isner and Becker. S. /.. 2I. .S3 c. Noted that the Director had given to him for comment a letter from proposing that selected reserve officers with mobilization assignments to G--2 be allowed to perform two weeks active duty with CIA each year. Mr. Dulles went on to say that a reply had been drafted turning this proposal down on security grounds. After some discussion wherein Mr. Wisner stated he could not concur in giving these people covert training and Mr. Becker stated that. he believed this to be a good idea and, further, his side of the shop could take care of these reserve officers, DD/A undertook to discuss this matter with DD/I. e.
