SUBJECT: Cordelia Dodson Hood

1. Subject, who is 62 years old, has been associated
with the Agency and predecessor organization since 1944.
She is married to William Joseph Hood, OS# 23 479, who was
Chief of Operations with CI Staff, Grade GS~17, at the time
of his retirement from the Agency on 31 December 1974.
2. The Subject was of past security concern to the
Agency because her brother, Daniel Boone Dodson was security
disapproved in February 1946 because of information on his
in~1aws. Daniel's wife was Judith Ware Dodson, the daughter
of Harold M. Ware and Clarissa Smith Ware, both deceased,
who were one—time members of the Communist Party. Judith
Ware Dodson is the stepdaughter of John J. Abt and Jessica
Smith Ware Abt, both of whom were prominent in Communist
Party activities. Judith Ware Dodson is the granddaughter
of the late Ella Reeve ("Mother") Bloor, who was one of the
leading members of the Communist Party, U. S. A.
3. The information regarding Subject's brother was
resolved in Subject's favor by polygraph in 1948 and was
reaffirmed by polygraph in 1955.
4. Subject's employment is as follows:
a. May 1944 -~ Security approved for employment
with OSS.
b. Resigned in February 1951 to accompany her
husband to V enna, Austria.
c. October 1951 —- Security approved as a Staff
Employee with assignment in Vienna.
d. Went on leave without pay for three months
in mid-1955.
