This CIA FOIA release contains an April 1968 dispatch, UFGA-29877, summarizing how Cuban media covered the assassination of Martin Luther King from 5 to 8 April. The dispatch quotes Granma and Havana radio stations, including statements by Stokely Carmichael and others that call for revolutionary violence. The release also includes May 1971 cables and a memo to the FBI on Americans at the World Peace Council conference in Budapest, where King was posthumously awarded the Joliot-Curie Gold Medal.

I would like to thank you for your letter and the two issues of "el corno". The reason for my late answer is simply that I waited for the definite decision of the editor in chief of ANZENTS about our project. His answer is a total agreement! I am very pleased about that and I hope that you are too. I would suggest that you collect about 10 -15 revolutionary poets. You should write an introduction or whatever you like. I also suggest that you and not sergio should collect as man, or less "other" poets. If you don't want to do that, please arrange something with sergio. It makes things much easier for me (mailings, translations, proofs, etc.) I need all the material in about 5 - 6 weeks. If this date will put pressure on you, let me know. we are going in about 10 weeks to Berlin, in early autumn to Prague (group 47 meeting) and will go to Juho early November. At this time we should be able to visit you. MAJ TOS-RUNG: In the last analysis, all the truths of Marxism can be summed up in one sentence: "To rebel is justified."... According to this principle, stand up and resist, struggle, build socialism.
