This Central Intelligence Agency memorandum to the Director of Central Intelligence, dated 6 January 1954, reports on a trip taken between 7 and 18 December 1953 to investigate a producer of a sensitive material, whose name is redacted. Company officials denied holding a 10 kilogram stock and said they had made about 40 grams in total, 10 of which went to the U.S. The company will keep a small stock for free distribution and will keep the agency informed of future production.

1. Attached herewith is a report of the trip to taken by D. and of between 7 and 18 December 1953. In brief, the report states that
(a) The report that the held a stock of 10 kilograms of the material is denied by company officials.
(b) They state that to date they have produced approximately 40 grams of this material in all, and that of the last batch of 20 grams, 10 were shipped to the U. S. and 10 remain in stock.
(c) Small amounts of the material are being supplied in solution to one psychiatrist. No other deliveries are being made to countries behind the Iron Curtain, and does not believe the material is being, or could be, produced behind the Iron Curtain today.
(d) will continue to maintain a small stock for free distribution to qualified users. This will allow to follow all experimental work and will discourage new producers.
