This Central Intelligence Agency information report, distributed 8 November 1955, gives a traveler's account of an unconventional flying object seen from a train in the USSR on 4 October 1955. After the train left Alyat, on the way from Baku toward Tiflis, a party member reported seeing a flying saucer. The source then watched a dim, dome-topped object with a spinning perimeter glow rise vertically, stop spinning, and pass over the train at tremendous speed.

I think his action was not connected with our observation, although he would have appeared sooner. Possibly he had been instructed to lower the blinds at an earlier time and had forgotten to do so. Later, in a casual way I commented to him about the side of the last term we had passed having to learn the name of it, but he made only a nonconformist reply. I did not mention the unusual object we had seen. I judge that our train arrived at Adchilabul (Kasi-laguzed) about 40 minutes after we sighted the flying object. We survived an Tirfilis on schedule the next day so I assume that it were on schedule at the time of ourighting.
