This Central Intelligence Agency report, distributed on 30 July 1954, compiles unevaluated foreign newspaper accounts of unidentified flying object sightings published between 19 January and 15 May 1954. It covers reports from France, Sweden, Norway, Algeria, the Union of South Africa and British Malaya. Among them are a cigar-shaped object near the Pyrenees, three rotating objects in V-formation seen over Kautokeino by Sheriff Oskal and his deputies, and cigar-shaped objects over Swettenham. The report gives no conclusions.

## Union of South Africa SIGHTING OVER WORCESTER -- Cape Town, Die Burger, 17 Apr 54 At 2000 hours on 16 April 1954, C. Horn of Worcester saw what appeared to be a blood-red star in motion. When he looked through a telescope, he could also detect moving objects around the star. The "star" climbed obliquely at a very fast rate and moved upward with a jerky motion, alternately starting and stopping. It seemed to sway like a balloon and became brighter as it rose. Finally, the object headed north. ## FAR EAST ١٠٠٦ ## British Malaya SIGHTINGS OF CIGAR-SHAPED OBJECTS -- Istanbul, Son Posta, 15 Mar 54 Kuala Lumpur (Anatolian Agency), 14 March 1954 -- On 12 March, harbor workers at Swettenham sighted a flying object which resembled a cigar and which left a white trail behind it. The object, which slowly disappeared in the clouds, has not been identified. Istanbul, Hurriyet, 19 Mar 54 Kuala Lumpur -- On 17 Mar 1954, a second cigar-shaped object was observed in the sky over certain portions of British Malaya.
