This Central Intelligence Agency compilation, dated 9 February 1953, collects translated press reports of unconventional aircraft from French Africa, Corsica and Western Europe in 1952. It covers sightings over Dakar, Oran, Corsica and the Algerian coast, and about 100 witnesses at Gaillac, Tarn, who saw 16 disks and a cigar shedding glass-wool-like particles. The director of the Algerian weather bureau attributed the Algiers saucers to weather balloons. The compilation also notes Rudolf Schriever's West German patent application for a flying saucer.

The inventor claimed that the craft, equipped with motors, has a diameter of 40 meters and can rise and descend vertically or remain motionless in the air. He estimated its maximum speed as 4,000 kilometers per hour.
