This CIA handwritten note, dated 19 January 1965, records a radar report from a Naval Air Station officer. It describes three trackings of UFOs on 19 December, with an estimated speed of 6,000 miles per hour and altitudes between 8,000 and 20,000 feet. It adds that an FAA station at Salisbury, Maryland had picked up Coast Guard messages about the sightings. The notes also cover NICAP and a magazine article by Keyhoe, and a request that OSI evaluate recent flying object reports.

Squad Pst Officer Putney. Naval Air Sta. Picked up on Radar. 3 consecutive trackings on Dec 19th between 3:15 x 3:30 P.M. Initial sighting 2 objects 10 miles apart and " picked up 39 miles of Plutus Thyax air Staley travelling towards base of estimated speed 6 thousand miles per hour . Fort it off serum about 10 miles out of Plutus . 3rd sighting or serun on U.F.O. 8 miles N.E. of Piters, which was 160° lurgy & dotted off asrun. In same detail about same time checked with an FAA state at Salisbury, Md which had picked up messages from U.S. Coast Guard relative to the registering sightings of U.F.O. Based on Radar Steam data , allied of UFOs estimated in range between 8000-20000 feet
