This Central Intelligence Agency abstract, dated January 1968, summarizes an article titled "Fantasy or reality?" from Komsomol'skaya pravda (Vilnius), issue no. 13 of 20 January 1968. The article interviewed several Soviet scientists and others about UFOs, among them Docent F. Zigel of the Moscow Aviation Institute, Docent V. Zaytsev of Minsk and I. Bestuzhev-Lada. Their opinions varied, but the article cited eyewitness accounts and stressed that the UFO phenomenon needed to be studied.
