This Foreign Broadcast Information Service item from FBIS Key West, dated 2 September 1987 and distributed through JCS Washington to military, intelligence and NASA addressees, relays a CANA news report from Bridgetown, Barbados. Scores of Barbadians reported seeing four to 18 slow-moving balls of light with long illuminated tails crossing the sky north to south for about 10 minutes. A LIAT pilot reported that objects passed his aircraft at high speed. Meteorological officials could not explain the objects, and similar sightings were reported in Grenada, St Lucia and Martinique.
