This Central Intelligence Agency report, 00-W-30797, was distributed 30 July 1954 and compiles unevaluated foreign newspaper accounts of unidentified flying objects published between 19 January and 15 May 1954. It covers sightings in France near Saint Mexant and Sare, in Sweden's Norrbotten Province and at Kautokeino in northern Norway, and over Saint Arnaud, Setif and Ouled Djellal in Algeria. It also includes reports from Worcester in South Africa and from Port Swettenham and Cheras in British Malaya.

Finally, the object headed north. ## FAR EAST ## British Malaya SIGHTINGS OF CIGAR-SHAPED OBJECTS -- Istanbul, Son Posta, 15 Mar 54 Kuala Lumpur (Anatolian Agency), 14 March 1954 -- On 12 March, harbor workers at Swettenham sighted a flying object which resembled a cigar and which left a white trail behind it. The object, which slowly disappeared in the clouds, has not been identified. Istanbul, Hurriyet, 19 Mar 54 Kuala Lumpur -- On 17 Mar-1954, a second cigar-shaped object was observed in the sky over certain portions of British Malaya.
