This Central Intelligence Agency item, dated 5 July 1952 and approved for release in March 1978, relays a press item from Bonn about an article by Dr. Waldemar Beck in the German magazine Der Flieger. The article claims a crewless flying saucer 47 meters in diameter crashed on Spitsbergen and was studied by Norwegian and German rocket experts. It reports a plutonium-cored radio piloting transmitter, an unknown steel alloy, 46 jets and Russian inscriptions on the instruments.
