This Central Intelligence Agency memorandum, dated 1967, answers a speed letter of 30 January 1967 requesting analysis of UFO photographs. Analysts examined copy prints rather than originals, comparing grain, edge sharpness and changes in image size between prints. They concluded that the photographs could not establish whether the object was a genuine UFO or a model. Several factors were said to fit the model theory, and the memo noted that analysing the original photographs might allow a definite conclusion.

It is assumed that the difference in image nine between prints two and five was caused by a change in camera to USB distance. This distance was less in print five than in print two. The following conditions are offered: (1) Considering a large UFO at a distance of approximately a quarter mile (2,000 feet) into a non stationary centre location, the UFO would have had to travel a considerable distance (2000 feet) in a flight line almost directly toward the central position to produce such a change in luge nine. (2) Considering a small, obstiliary UID at a distance of approximately nin feet and a slightly variable (a curve foot) in central location, a change in large nine of this magnitude would have resulted from a change in central location of less than the above variable. has reviewed the quantitative results obtained by and has found no discrepancies in the data have been drawn. Unfortunately, with the material available very little objective information can be obtained except building upon those of objects other than those from the current study. So little that the original results would enable further study by providing the total per centile index work and economy of the ex- control. It is indicated that this study would concentrate on three cross; (1) Minimum consumption including three, distance, and engine.
