This Central Intelligence Agency memorandum, dated June 5, 1957, records an interview with a person whose name is deleted, on the subject of unidentified flying objects. The subject is described as a calm Oakland businessman and WWII intelligence officer. He claimed extrasensory powers, invisible space ships traveling in a fourth dimension, and an encounter during a May 1957 trip to a Yucaipa Valley convention. There, he said, a light landed in the desert. The memo notes that no classified information was given.

6. During the light of May 11th and 12th, he had an encounter with a flyin' cancer, as he states, in three dimensions. During the voyage to tell a magnetic field direction into the desert, after about a two mile walk, he saw what appeared to be a star, but as he looked it blinked an orange light several times and grew into a white light, about fifteen or twenty miles away. It approached him to within about 4 miles at about 1500' altitude and changed into a round red orb of 11. ht, 20 - 20 feet in diameter. It remained motionless for about five minutes; as he approached it moved away and landed in the desert. percent the rest of the night walking in the desert on directed by the magnetic force. No previously noted. Several times he felt that he was near and on the occasion he felt that he was load around the canoe but it was invisible. No felt the presence of the people who had arrived in the cancer and voiced greetings to them on several occasions. After spending most of the night walking in the desert as directed, a revolution of a very personal nature came to bear. After this as felt that the mission of the cancer was accomplished and the encounter was over. So returned to camp. On his return journey he encountered three people who had camped across two miles from the convention site and stated that they saw the light first description. estimates that during the night he walked about twenty miles. He stated that at the time he was catering from the maze and was in considerable discomfort. He would such rather have been in compulsion but he felt that he should follow the diagnostic farmless. He said that he was not compelled to follow and that he could have broken off and gone home at any time. 9. No classified information was given.
