This CIA Office of Scientific Intelligence memorandum for the record is dated 15 June 1954. It answers a 20 May 1954 request on how to divide intelligence responsibilities for non-conventional air vehicles like the saucer-like planes then being developed by Canadian, British and USAF organizations. ASD/SI is to identify, assess and report any foreign use of such vehicles. PSE/SI keeps the OSI project and central file on unidentified flying objects and shares relevant material. The memo concludes that no special action is needed at this time.
