This Central Intelligence Agency release, dated 2 January 1953, is a letter from Assistant Director H. Marshall Chadwell to MIT Provost Julius Stratton. It says the Intelligence Advisory Committee recommended that CIA convene a panel of scientists on unidentified flying objects, and that CIA concurs with the panel's report, which is enclosed. The file also includes a 27 January 1953 memo on the advisory group's 14 to 17 January meetings. That memo reports the finding that the objects pose no threat to national security and that education programs were recommended.

In connection with CBI Advisory Group on Unidentified Flying Objects, 12:17 January 1933 2. At your request I represented PIE Division at the subject meeting. I was present at nearly all meetings of the group with the exception of the afternoon of Friday, the 15th and the afternoon on Saturday, the 17th. During the latter two sessions the Advisory Group went into executive session for the preparation of their report to A2/N1. 2. The following OCI Consultants joined the Advisory Group: Dr. H. P. Hortson, Calman Dr. San Sanderito Doy Lord 2212103 Dr. Thornton Page (closed morning session on 16th) Dr. Lloyd Denner (present only on afternoon of 16th and 17: Dr. J. A. Lynch (on AIC consultant - he sat in all the sessions after the first day, but did not sign the report to AC/PI as an official group member) 3. The following CCI staff members attained: Dr. H. J. Campbell (not of the first day only) Mr. P. G. Strong (first day only) Mr. F. C. Duncan (although not an CCI consultant, he suffered as a staff member for the conference and attended all sessions including the executive session B. D. B. Cloveman, Response Division Lt. Col. F. C. S. Gier, 125 Division 4. The following persons were invited to present certain back ground information to the Advisory Group: Captain Llard Ryealt, AETC who presented information on the work of Zinn, Mishack (and its predecessors Korn, Yo', Gaverson', and Yinn') and discussed in detail many of their specific investigations. Infer Journey, A. B. (by me on inactive status and with the Mogl Corp.) the presented Collars independent of AID. representatives of the law photographic队 who presented their analysis of films of a "Eighth."
