This Central Intelligence Agency information report, dated 4 July 1956, relays a source's account of fast-moving flying objects over Stalingrad in spring 1954. While convalescing from jaundice at a military hospital near the Barrikady works, the source and other patients twice saw an unknown object cross from horizon to horizon, heading southeast to northwest and apparently climbing. The object itself was not visible. It caused strong air vibration, a screeching, whistling noise unlike an artillery shell, and a visible disturbance around it.

PREPARED AND DISSEMINATED BY USGN/Etalingrad Fast-moving Flying Objects Over Stalingrad In Spring 1954 In the spring of 1954, I was hospitalized for treatment for: ellov jaundice at a military hospital near the Harritadi Hunt's Works (48 48 H . 44 32 E). On two occasions during the period of my convalescence, I, as well as other patients at the hospital, observed the flight of an unknown object from horizon to horizon, flying from southeast to northwest. This object appeared to be climbing. I cannot describe the object, but as I remember, it took approximately one minute for the object to leave the range of my vision. This object caused a great amount of vibration in the air and made a screeching, whistling noise which was different from the noise made by an artillery shell in flight.
