This Central Intelligence Agency information report, marked as unevaluated information and dated 1958, describes a sighting made while travelling by train from Leningrad to Moscow. At about 10 PM on 10 July, the source saw a bright light in the air trailing a long tail of black smoke, perhaps 5 to 15 miles away and under 2,000 feet up. A guide reportedly said it was probably a flying object. An editorial comment notes that another source reported the same incident.

## THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION 1. About 10 PM on the night of 10 Jul 59, while currents from Leningrad to Moscow by train, we met a bright light in the air which was trailed by a long tail of black smoke. It was much too bright for a place. It may have been five to 15 miles distant and was under two thousand feet above ground. 2. We acquired of our guild what it was not got only a bursary稍且 that it was probably a flying career. The guild was "Iverson" we had been with a party of which I was a matter on a previous trip.
