This one-page Central Intelligence Agency information report, numbered CS-3,325.4.7 and dated 1957, covers a flying object seen on 12 June from Iranian Julfa on the Iran/USSR border. The object looked like a ball about half a meter across with a half-meter tail. It flew at high speed from Nakhichevan toward Soviet territory and was visible for only a few seconds. A field comment adds a second witness, who described the object as football-sized and said its smoke trail stayed visible for about 15 minutes.

On 12 June at 11:00 a.m. local time, a flying object was seen from Iranian Jalifa. N 39-15, N 45-25, travelling on a course from Nakhichevan to Karu, USSR. The object appeared to be a ball about one-half meter in diameter and has a tail one-half meter in length. It travelled at high speed at a height of about 2,000 feet and was visible for only a few seconds. The smoke trail left by the object drifted over Iranian Jalifa from the USSR and consisted of a trail about 5 or 10 centimeters in diameter. Field Comment: also reported seeing a flying object at the same time and described it as being about the size of a football and moving at a height of 2000 meters. He said the smoke track left behind the object was visible for about 15 minutes.
