Capt. Terauchi's handwritten Japanese statement with sketches

This handwritten Japanese statement with sketches, released by the FAA and republished by The Black Vault, is Captain Terauchi's first-hand account of Japan Air Lines cargo flight JL1628 on 17 November 1986. It tells how the Boeing 747 left Keflavik, Iceland, on a special wine cargo flight and, over Alaska, was accompanied for about 50 minutes by two small spaceships and one huge mothership. It describes the lights, the onboard weather radar return, Anchorage Center's exchanges and a United Airlines flight's attempt to see the object.
