This undated NICAP file holds a handwritten personal statement about a UFO sighting at Edwards AFB, California, around July or August 1964. The writer was senior officer on alert that night. They say the SAGE center in San Bernardino called at about 0200 about UFO reports and asked for an F-106A to be launched, then declined to authorize it. The writer and three others watched a pulsating light turn 90 degrees and climb until it seemed to go out into space. Edwards approach control reported no radar contact.

The town personnel at Edwards had reported visual sightings so I went outside and stood by our aloft van with radio contact with the control tower. I also had a pair of binoculars 10x50 power

As I scanned the sky, it being a cloudless star like might with little or no moon, I observed a light pulsating light to the Northwest of my position moving south at about 1000 feet above the ground at about 300 feet . I grabbed the binoculars and got a better look . The UFO was about 10 miles Northwest of my position at first sighting . It continued South until it was almost due West of me . There it made a 90° right turn and started to blink at a 45° 56° angle . Call it could see into the pulsating ( not rotating ) light and what appeared
