This NICAP-hosted Blue Book file, credited to Brad Sparks, collects 1949 US Air Force Office of Special Investigations reports on a disc seen over the Rogue River near Gold Beach, Oregon, on 24 May 1949. It includes signed statements from fishing party members, among them staff from the NACA Ames Laboratory at Moffett Field, along with character references and interview forms. The witnesses describe a silvery circular object with a fin that flew silently. Investigators noted that radar test kites might have drifted that far north.

On 2 August 1949, Ames Laboratory, Moffett Field, California, and Miss Ames Laboratory, Moffett Field, California, stated they had known for approximately three (3) years, that he is an unusually mature individual not given to exaggeration or prone to falsenood. They would be inclined to take seriously any statement Mr. had to make. 5. On 2 August 1949, and Miss Laboratory, Moffett Field, California, stated they had known for approximately two (2) months, that he was not inclined to falsehood or exaggeration, in fact not inclined to talk much at all. They would be inclined to place considerable reliability in anything had to say. ## AT SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA 6. On 2 August 1949, , Sunnyvale, California, stated he had known for about six (6) or seven (7) years, that HEAPHY was trustworthy and reliable in all of his talk and statements, and he would be inclined to give credence to anything had to say. 7. On 2 August 1949, California, stated that he had known for about two (2) years, that he was inclined to believe that Mr. was trustworthy in speech and manner, not given to wild talk or exaggeration in any form. He would place considerable belief in any statements made by Mr. ## AT SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA 8. On 2 August 1949, Air Force radar installations at Treasure Island and the military reservation at Fort Baker, both in the San Francisco area, send alert radar testing devices known as "kites" twice each day, at around 1000 and 1600.
