This declassified Spanish Air Force file, catalogued as expedientes 791111, 791117 and 791128 (Bis), was released through the Air Operational Command (MOA) intelligence section in November 1996. It collects a 1994 request from CJMOA asking commands to search their archives for UFO records, together with a list of past incidents and MACEN's reply. It also holds controller and aircrew reports on a Phantom scramble from Torrejón over Madrid on 28 November 1979. No visual contact was made, though the crew had brief radar echoes and radar-lock warnings.

EXP 791111 791117 791128 BIS BIBLIOTECA CENTRAL EGEA CENTRO DOCUMENTACION 04 DIC 1996 ENTRADA N° 301 C3 A las 02.30 Z, del dia 23 de Noviembre de 1.979, comuni- ca a Pegaso el Sr. de Control Madrid (Paracuellos), - que segun información recibida del CBS.IV.A.IIO.ORCCHICC DE LCNJICA, hay dos CV.IS en la vertical de Madrid, los cua- les están siendo observados por multitud de personas en la calle Velázquez (Madrid); comunica igualmente que Radio Na- cional de noticias continuamente del suceso. A las 03.20 Z. se llama a VIL para preguntar si tiene algun eco extrufo en pantalla, y confirman tener una señal que el DISJUNTADOR DE CBJ12C llega a listinguir hasta tres situados estéticamente a 58.000 pies y sobre IJ III 302C y los cuales estén observando desde las 23.00 Z. del diante- rior. A las 03.30 Z. se da Scramble de LFC al conocimiento de la zona. A las 03.45 Z. contacto radar con el . NJ ML 201C; asciende a 35.000 pies y se le dirige a la milla 34 del ra- dial 002 de VIL, NJ ML 302C), punto donde VIL comunica que tiene la señal a altitules que en este momento nos informa, son le 80.000 pies.
