The witnesses described a stationary, shimmering, potato-shaped object about the size of a large jet that slowly changed shape and then suddenly disappeared. The analysis concludes, with low confidence, that sunlight reflecting off snow and lighting up low clouds possibly caused the sighting. It found no anomalous data and no adversarial capability.
This Federal Bureau of Investigation electronic communication on form FD-1057, dated July 2024, records a forensic sketch interview held at 26 Federal Plaza, New York, with a Special Agent and a forensic artist from the Operational Projects Unit. The witness, a former U.S. Army intelligence officer, says that four other members of their unit also saw a UAP over the Cheyenne Mountains. They describe a still, potato-shaped, creamy opalescent object with shifting scale-like panels that vanished after about two minutes. An initial sketch draft is enclosed.
This Federal Bureau of Investigation FD-302 records a March 2025 interview, conducted over Microsoft Teams, with a soldier about a UAP sighting in early February 2022 near Fort Carson, Colorado. He and four other soldiers saw a motionless, matte white, bean-shaped object with intersecting ridges hovering over a saddle of Cheyenne Mountain for 3 to 5 minutes before it vanished. Drawings they each made afterwards all matched. AARO contacted him in early 2024, but he says nobody ever interviewed him.
On March 6, 2026, eight members of the U.S. House of Representatives requested access to 51 potentially UAP-related records allegedly held by the Department of War and the Intelligence Community. The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) identified a collection of responsive materials held on a classified network. Many of these materials lack a substantiated chain-of-custody. AARO assesses that this video, whose uploader-defined title is, “IIR 1 655 S0053 23/Several Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Encountered In The Vicinity of Columbus OH,” is likely derived from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform operating within the United States Northern Command area of responsibility in November 2022. A user uploaded this video to a classified network in March 2023. Video Duration: 00:01:28 Video Description: 00:00-00:04: No content. 00:05-00:07: The sensor pans to center a small area of contrast within its field-of-view. 00:11-00:37: The sensor cycles contrast modes and zoom levels while the area of contrast remains generally within the sensor field-of-view. 00:38-00:41: The orientation of the sensor relative to the area of contrast causes the area of contrast to appear to rotate. 00:42-01:14: A second area of contrast enters the frame from near the center of the top of the screen. It transits the sensor field-of-view, before becoming obscured by a redacted visual element of the sensor display. 01:17: The initial area of contrast loses distinctiveness against the background. 01:20: The sensor rotates, causing the second area of contrast to re-enter the scene before exiting the frame at the center of the top of the screen. 01:23-01:28: No content. In March 2022, at approximately 1920 local time in the northeastern United States, an eyewitness observed two bright red luminous light sources hovering near the horizon at an estimated distance of 2,500 feet. Both luminous objects maintained generally stationary positions throughout the encounter. The lower light source appeared to rotate slowly relative to the upper light source, moving from an apparent 6 o’clock position to slightly beyond the apparent 9 o’clock position. The eyewitness did not hear any sounds from the light sources. The eyewitness captured this video using an iPhone 12 Pro at a location well known to them, which is sparsely populated. The description above is derived from statements provided to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) by an eyewitness to the event. The FBI assesses the individual who reported this event as highly credible. The subject matter described in files FBI-UAP-D004 through FBI-UAP-D008 and depicted in the video footage FBI-UAP-PR001 through FBI-UAP-PR003 corresponds to reports originating from the same general area in the northeastern United States.
This is a U.S. Air Force mission report (MISREP) for an Operation Inherent Resolve ISR flight in the USCENTCOM area on 6 May 2022. USCENTCOM declassified it on 7 October 2025 and approved it for release to AARO. The report says that between 1514Z and 1934Z the aircraft's full motion video recorded five UAP crossing the field of view. The first looked like a possible missile, and the other four more closely fit the profile of birds. Dust hindered most of the ground collection.

This memorandum for record, dated 5 June 2026, comes from the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in the Office of the Under Secretary of War. It is an update on AARO's analysis of an October 2023 incident near a sensitive national security site in the western United States. Over two days, six federal agents reported orange "mother orbs" releasing smaller red orbs. AARO attributes about 60 percent of the activity to military aircraft dispensing flares, and the remaining 40 percent is still unresolved.
