This is Government Attic's posting of a 1969 Library of Congress annotated bibliography, UFOs and Related Subjects, compiled by Lynn E. Catoe for the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. The Defense Technical Information Center released it under FOIA in November 2014. The bibliography lists more than 1,600 items and was requested to support the University of Colorado UFO study led by Edward U. Condon. Its preface concludes that no simple, single explanation of the UFO phenomenon applies to all cases.

Author says that in connection with a course on flying saucers that he taughl at Wesleyan University, it was determined that over a period of 20 year~>, during which there were at least 11, 000 visual sightings uf UFOs, no astronomical photograph has recorded one, even though artifical satellites, meteors, and asteroids are frequently noted. He cites testimony of witnesses who claim to have experienced or seen a visitation by an extraterrestrial intelligent being.
