This is Government Attic's posting of a 1969 Library of Congress annotated bibliography, UFOs and Related Subjects, compiled by Lynn E. Catoe for the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. The Defense Technical Information Center released it under FOIA in November 2014. The bibliography lists more than 1,600 items and was requested to support the University of Colorado UFO study led by Edward U. Condon. Its preface concludes that no simple, single explanation of the UFO phenomenon applies to all cases.

Observatior&al evidence that bears on the supposed existence of vegetation
in the dark regions of the planet Mars is discussed. The temperature
measurements of Mars are presented be~ause. although they do not giv<!
any direct st~pport to the existence of vegetation, they do have a bearing on
the natm·e of the vegetation if such is present. From the temperature obser-
vation it is concluded that plants are liKely to be shaped liKe cactuses.
