Government Attic · 419 pages · text from the file's own layer

This is Government Attic's posting of a 1969 Library of Congress annotated bibliography, UFOs and Related Subjects, compiled by Lynn E. Catoe for the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. The Defense Technical Information Center released it under FOIA in November 2014. The bibliography lists more than 1,600 items and was requested to support the University of Colorado UFO study led by Edward U. Condon. Its preface concludes that no simple, single explanation of the UFO phenomenon applies to all cases.

Author postulates that because UFOs have killed and injured seemingly
innocent persons, we should not conclude that the saucers have sinister
motives; because UFCs usually do not bother us, we should not conclude
that they are indifferent to us; because UFO beings are sometimes kind
to us, we should not conclude that they like us. We should conclude,
though, t:~at they are intimately concerned with us--to the extent that t:1ey
have gone to fantastic lengths to prevent us from knowing what they are
cioing.
