H.R. 8197 is a bill that Mr. Burchett introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on April 6, 2026, during the 119th Congress. It was referred to the Committee on Armed Services and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Within 60 days of enactment, the Secretary of Defense would have to terminate the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office and transfer its functions to other Defense Department elements. The bill also bars any similar centralized office, repeals Section 1683 of the FY2022 NDAA, and defines unidentified anomalous phenomena.
