The Roswell Report: Case Closed is a 1997 US Air Force report written by Captain James McAndrew, with a foreword by Secretary of the Air Force Sheila E. Widnall. It follows up the 1994 report, which found that the 1947 debris came from the balloon project MoGUL. It concludes that the reported alien bodies were probably anthropomorphic test dummies dropped from high altitude balloons. It attributes the hospital body claims to a 1956 KC-97 crash and a 1959 manned balloon mishap.

high altitude balloon program. Dr Hynek once approached m~ and we discussed at length.
the possibility that Air Force high altitude balloons were responsible for many EFO
sightings. We ended the conversation in agreement that the balloons probably accounted
for many of the CFO sightings. In other conversation') Dr Hynek always gave;: me the;:
impression that there \Vere very fe\v UFO sightings that could not be explained by good
scientific investigation. At no time did Dr H)nek mention or discuss the alkged ""Ros\vell
Incident"". I \Vas therefore ··tlabbergastcd ·· w·hen Dr Hynek appeared to believe that some
of these sightings \Vcrc of an extraterrestrial origin.
I am not part of an:v conspiracy to \VithhoJd or pro\·ide misleading infonnation to the
Cnited States Government or the American public. There is no classified information that
I am vvithholding related to this inquiry and I have never been threatened by t:.s.
Government persons concerning refraining from talking about this matter.
