This is Spanish Air Force file 761119, released by the Ejército del Aire and declassified in 1994. It covers a luminous phenomenon seen over the Canary Islands on 19 November 1976 by the crew of the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano, a T-12 aircraft carrying the Canary Islands Air Zone commander, a Spantax crew and witnesses in Guía near Gáldar. The file includes Informe 02/76 with 14 witness statements, radar and weather data, the investigating judge's proposal for a UFO study center, and airline reports of a bright dome over Málaga. The general's own view was that it was an unidentified optical phenomenon.

Pero atendiendo tan solo, a los hechos narrados en éste informe, no podemos llegar a otras conclusiones que las siguientes:

6. 5.1.- Que la seriedad y buen juicio de los testigos está fuera de toda duda por ser gran número de ellos mienbros de nuestras Fuerzas Armadas estando en posesión de altas graduaciones, reuniendo en todos los casos gran experiencia y responsabilidad. Por tanto:

6.5.2.- El fenómeno existió real y verdaderamente en la forma descrita, la no

che del día 19 de Noviembre de 1.976.

6. 5.3.- Que la naturaleza del mismo, nos es por ahora desconocida.

6. 5.4.- Que al no haber sido posible tener contacto radar, no podemos determinar si la fuente que dió urigen al citado fenómeno pudiera tener una consistencia sólida. Aunque tampoco se tenga pruebas concluyentes que dicho fenómeno no fuera detectable.

6. 5.5.- Por todo lo anterior y muy especialmente lo afirmado en el parrafo precedente, no se puede dar en esto caso, el apelativo de "objeto", limitándonos en espera de superior estudio, a considerar que lo obervado en la noche del día 19 de Noviembre pasado era un "FENOMENO DE EU NO IDENTIFICADO" ( F.A.N.I. )
