This is Spanish Air Force file 761119, released by the Ejército del Aire and declassified in 1994. It covers a luminous phenomenon seen over the Canary Islands on 19 November 1976 by the crew of the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano, a T-12 aircraft carrying the Canary Islands Air Zone commander, a Spantax crew and witnesses in Guía near Gáldar. The file includes Informe 02/76 with 14 witness statements, radar and weather data, the investigating judge's proposal for a UFO study center, and airline reports of a bright dome over Málaga. The general's own view was that it was an unidentified optical phenomenon.

Posición: 29º 04' N. 14º 33' W. ## D.- DESCRIPCION DEL OBJETO 2. - Forma: Punto luminoso. 1. - Tamaño: Puntual 3. - Estaba posado firmemente en el suelo: NO 4. - Caso afirmativo: 4. 1.- Sobre ruedas: Nil. 4. 2.- Sobre tripode: Nil. 4. 3.- Sobre columnas: Nil. 4. 4.- Número de ellas: Nil. 4. 5.- Longitud de las mismas: Nil. 4. 6.- Directamente sobre el suelo: No. Algo mas elevado que el horizonte. 5. 1.- Luz opaca y poco intenso: NO 5. - Descripción del tipo de iluminación del objeto: 5. 2.- Luz transparente: SI 5. 3.- Permitía ver su interior: SI 5. 4.- Caso afirmativo que observó: Se veían estrellas en el tramo final del fenómeno. 5.5.- Describalo: Punto luminoso que apareció repentinamente en el horizon y comenzó a describir trayectoria espiral hasta completar dos ó tres pasos; en ese momento se iluminó un circulo en el horizonte, aumenten- do gradualmente de tamaño, hasta hacerse mas y mas opaco y desaparece finalmente. Duración aproximada 45 minutos.
