Review of the University of Colorado Report on Unidentified Flying Objects by a Panel of the National Academy of Sciences

This DTIC release reproduces a National Academy of Sciences panel review of the University of Colorado report on unidentified flying objects, transmitted to Assistant Secretary of the Air Force Alexander H. Flax on January 8, 1969. The panel was chaired by Gerald M. Clemence and assessed the study's scope, methodology and findings. It found all three adequate and concurred that further extensive UFO study is not justified. It called extraterrestrial visitation the least likely explanation.

Finally, may I add that the report of the re-
viewing panel was prepared and is being made avail-
able for the sole purpose of assisting the governient
in reaching a decision on its future course of action.
Its use in whole or part for any other purpose would
be incompatible with the purpose of che review and
the conditions under which it was conducted.
