This Central Intelligence Agency Domestic Collection Division report on the USSR is dated 10 November 1976 and marked as unevaluated information. It describes how Aeroflot deals with crew fatigue through physical conditioning, preflight medical testing and rest facilities called prophylactoriums at major airports. It also describes an automated prototype that tests pilots' psychomotor function in about three minutes. Radiation biologist Akoyev is reported as explaining that cosmic ray particles make Aeroflot pilots see flashes of light at night. The subject line also lists UFO phenomena.
