This FBI file, 62-HQ-83894 Sub A, collects newspaper clippings on flying saucers that the Bureau filed between 1947 and 1960. They include July 1947 reports of discs over Portland, Idaho, Seattle and Washington, and a Grand Blanc, Michigan pizza maker's complaint about his moon photograph. There are also clippings on Reinhold Schmidt's November 1957 space ship claim at Kearney, Nebraska, the Coast Guard cutter Sebago radar sighting, Carl Jung's 1958 remarks, and Captain Peter Killian's 1959 airliner sighting.

"According to those designs," ·hel" - said in an interview, "the disks •could carry a cargo ot explosives of any kind- and today an atomic bomb-to destroy entire cities." Of the present rash of reports of ' "flying saucers," which the U. S. ·Air Force has declared are without .toundation in fact, Sr. Belluzzo said: "It has passed my mind that some great power is experimenting with t]ying· disks-without explosives or atomic bombs. DRAFTED PLANS "There Is nothing supernatural about flying disks. It's just the most rational use of recently evolved techniques." Sr. Belluzzo said he personally bad drafted plans for a "flying disk" 32 feet in diameter, but ·c1aimed they disappeared with Mus solini w hen he fled to northern · Jtaly in 1943. "Both Hitler and Mussolini were interested in flying discs,'' he said. "The principle of the flying disc is very simple. Its construction is easy and . can be done with very light metal.
