This FBI file, 62-HQ-83894 Sub A, collects newspaper clippings on flying saucers that the Bureau filed between 1947 and 1960. They include July 1947 reports of discs over Portland, Idaho, Seattle and Washington, and a Grand Blanc, Michigan pizza maker's complaint about his moon photograph. There are also clippings on Reinhold Schmidt's November 1957 space ship claim at Kearney, Nebraska, the Coast Guard cutter Sebago radar sighting, Carl Jung's 1958 remarks, and Captain Peter Killian's 1959 airliner sighting.

0-19 ,f' Pilot" Sights Small Flying Oise Chasing F-84 Over Japan By the Associated Preu UNITED STATES AIR BASE, Northern Japan. Jan. 28.-The United States Air Force last night reported a small, metallic, disc shaped object made a controlled, sweeping pass at an American jet fighter-bomber and was ob served at very close range by another pilot. The report, from Air Force intelligence files, said the sight ing was made over Northern Japan at 11 :20 a .m., March 29. 1952, by Lt. David C. Brigham of Rockford, DJ. It was a bright, cloudless day. Lt. Brigham said he got a very goi look at the object from ab t 30 to 50 feet for about 10 sec nds. T e pilot described it as ;i-~ 79 FEB 3-195l "about eight inches in diameter , very thin, round, and as shiny as polished chromium; had no ap pannt projections and left no exhaust trails or vapor trails." He said it caught up with an F-84 Thunderj et, hovered a few moments and then shot out of sigh t. The F -84 pilot, whose name was not revealed, did not see it. 1t was the second disclosure in a week by Air Force intelli gence of mysterious flying ob jects over Northern J apan near the Russian-Siberia area.
