The sc ientists of all nations called upon the mil
itary in every ot her natio n to aim their ato mic mi ss
iles at the asteroid and to fire simultaneously. In
this way the astero id was destroyed by the same
weapons that had caused its creatio n.
Representatives of the press were present at the
show in g . After it was over, I was asked if such a
t hing co uld hap pen in rea l life. I rep li ed that it could
and gave the following ex pl anation:
" Th e lightning bo lt is created from invi si bl e par
ticles of matter that are fused togeth er by the terr
ific heat of a natural electrical discharge. It is entire ly
possible for the milli ons of tons of debris that have
been blown into the upper regions of the earth 's
atmosphere to co me together and form an artifi cial
asteroid. Th e larger the mass of debris, the more
attraction it would have for additio nal particles. "
Thi s picture alert ed me to t he possibility that rad
iation and fallout are not the only dangers we might
be facing from our atomic exp losio ns.
Reports have come from Mexico stating that a
hug e fireb all cras hed into a mountain just before t he
disastrous earthqu ake there in August of 1959.
Recently several planes hav e reportedly hit objects
from space. Some have survi ved; others have cras
hed to th eir doom. Could th ey have crashed into
some of the high-energy pockets left by our explos
ions?
Some of these man- made asteroids burn and glow,
and cou ld be mistaken for ord inary meteorites . Thi s
may also be the answer to some of the fireb all s that
have been reported.
By t he way of c lo sing this chapte r, I would like to
reproduce in part a letter concerning the lecture in
Amsterdam , se nt to co-workers in The Neth erlands
area. It was wri tten by Miss Rey d 'Aqu il a, dated
Jun e 13th, 1959, and reads as follows:
" At th e end of the lecture in Amsterd am, Pro
fessor E. L. See llig er of Bergen (NH), physic ist and
former Delft Professor, stepped on the platform and
thanked 'o ur friend Adamski ' in public for the things
that he had b rought us. Qu oti ng him exac tly : 'The
things that we have heard may so und strange to most
of us , if not all , but strang e thi ngs happen eve ry
day, if our eyes are open . I hope that we will be
open-minded and benefit from the things we have
heard today. '
" The audience applauded heartily. ( In side inform
ation : Professor Seelliger is in good rel atio n to the
Queen and if we take hi s mental courage and her
interest and deep understanding , we may conc lu de
that after all George Adamski 's visit to our country
has been a successful one and the steppi ng sto ne
to a better future .)"
Regarding my interview with the Qu ee n, I will
agai n quote from the repo rt: " B ut one thing we can
say for sure, no pres s reporters were present. So
what the press had fu'rther to say about hi s aud ie nce
was a big lie from the first to the last lin e! Paris
Match, for instance, carried a w holly imaginative
' Interview With Th e Queen ', comp let e wit h questions
and answers!"
I wish those imaginative reporters could have been
prese nt during my interview with Queen Juli ana. Th ey
might have lea rned so mething of d igni ty, kindness
and genti lity, from a great woman who rules her
country with wisdom and love.
