This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section (62-HQ-83894, Section 10) holds UFO-related correspondence from 1966 to 1977. In a 1966 letter, Florence C. Dow of Goffstown, New Hampshire asked whether subscribing to the Amalgamated Flying Saucer Clubs of America journal might link her to communists. J. Edgar Hoover replied that the Bureau does not evaluate organizations, and a copy of the journal is enclosed. Other items include a 1977 Air Force fact sheet on the end of Project Blue Book and a White House inquiry answered by the FBI, which said it had no jurisdiction over UFO sightings.

INFORMATION CONCERNING
At 12:07 a.m., 8/22/74, Security Patrol Clerk (SPC)
Charles F. Halty, Intelligence Division received a call via
Command Center telephone from a Major Horn, NMCC (National
Military Command Center). Major Horn asked for any informa- /
tion the FBI might have concerning a report that an unidentif ~ i
object which fell from the sky at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, had
been recovered by local police and turned over to the Milwa
Office of the FBI.

Night Duty Supervisor Harry E. Morris, Jr., called SPC
Koller, Milwaukee Office, who advised an unidentified objec
\ had been recovered by Milwaukee police at about 5:55 p.m.,
8/21/74, but that it was still in possession of police. He
s aid a Captain Wills of the Milwaukee Police Department had
called the Milwaukee FBI Office to report the recovery. Very
little was known about the object which was described as about
13 x 8 x 5 inches, metallic in substance and color, jagged on
one side and had an "internal heat source." Police notified
military locally.
Above information was relayed to Major Horn with
suggestion he might like to contact Captain Wills, Milwaukee
Police Department.
