This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section, part of file 62-HQ-83894, gathers flying saucer correspondence and memoranda mostly from 1952, with some from 1954. It includes a Savannah River Plant sighting teletype, Hoover replies that send public letters on to the Air Force, a San Diego report on Borderland Sciences, and a laboratory exam of the scoutmaster Desvergers' cap that found no residue. It also covers instructions to refer disc reports to OSI and a 1954 Cincinnati matter involving Truman Bethurum.

The FBI's 62-HQ-83894 case file includes investigative records, eyewitness testimonies, and public reports concerning Unidentified Flying Objects and flying discs documented between June 1947 and July 1968. The records include high-profile incident accounts, photographic evidence from sites like Oak Ridge, TN, and technical proposals regarding potential propulsion systems. Additional topics include convention programs, researcher accounts, and extensive media coverage from the period. This file is partially posted on FBI vault with more redactions and some pages missing. Included here is the complete case file with several newly declassified pages and only minor redactions.

Upon recei pt of information by your office relating to the sighting of a flying disc, you should endeavor to determine from the complainant details of the type referr ed to in the Air Force memorandum, which was furnished to your office as an enclosur e to SAC Letter #38 . The information should then be promptly fur - nished to OSI locally by your office.
