This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section, part of file 62-HQ-83894, gathers flying saucer correspondence and memoranda mostly from 1952, with some from 1954. It includes a Savannah River Plant sighting teletype, Hoover replies that send public letters on to the Air Force, a San Diego report on Borderland Sciences, and a laboratory exam of the scoutmaster Desvergers' cap that found no residue. It also covers instructions to refer disc reports to OSI and a 1954 Cincinnati matter involving Truman Bethurum.

The records include high-profile incident accounts, photographic evidence from sites like Oak Ridge, TN, and technical proposals regarding potential propulsion systems. Additional topics include convention programs, researcher accounts, and extensive media coverage from the period. This file is partially posted on FBI vault with more redactions and some pages missing. Included here is the complete case file with several newly declassified pages and only minor redactions.

Inamuch as Seattle is the District Headquarters £or the Intelligence
Agencies in the PacU'ic Northwest, reports received, usual.ly .t'rom the USCG,
concerning incidents in the state o.f Oregon are imm.ediatel.7 reported to
that ot!ice as well ae the Intelligence Agencies.
Many' or the reports are of a nebulous type, impossible ot corroborating, \/'
and of doubttul authenticity. Some, by preliminaey inquiey and eT&luation, ~
proTe to be without foundation. HoweTer, as stated abo-n, reports of this
type are ilaediately disseminated to the Intelligence Agencies without g
eTaluation, followed by a.d.ditional information as obtained. 9
This office has no control of the dissemination or these reports ~
on a "spot" basis by the local intelligence ottices to their Headquarters
