This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section, part of file 62-HQ-83894, gathers flying saucer correspondence and memoranda mostly from 1952, with some from 1954. It includes a Savannah River Plant sighting teletype, Hoover replies that send public letters on to the Air Force, a San Diego report on Borderland Sciences, and a laboratory exam of the scoutmaster Desvergers' cap that found no residue. It also covers instructions to refer disc reports to OSI and a 1954 Cincinnati matter involving Truman Bethurum.

The FBI's 62-HQ-83894 case file includes investigative records, eyewitness testimonies, and public reports concerning Unidentified Flying Objects and flying discs documented between June 1947 and July 1968. The records include high-profile incident accounts, photographic evidence from sites like Oak Ridge, TN, and technical proposals regarding potential propulsion systems. Additional topics include convention programs, researcher accounts, and extensive media coverage from the period. This file is partially posted on FBI vault with more redactions and some pages missing. Included here is the complete case file with several newly declassified pages and only minor redactions.

(ESPIONAGE) Reurlet 6/8/54. You are instructed to recontact Thomas Eickhoff, referred to in your referenced letter and advise him this Bureau has no jurisdiction concerning the investir.ation or matters relating to flying discs and that the United States Air Force has such jurisdiction. You are instr ucted to advise him this Bureau cannot approve or disapprove or his activities in connection with this matter and that the placing of this Bureau on notice as to his activities will not e:xonerate him in the event he engages in any fraudulent or criminal activities . You are instructed to furnish the information set forth in your referenced letter to OSI locally and to the Bureau in a memorandum suitable for dissemination to OSI headquarters. NOTE: Thomas Eickhoff, Cincinnati, Ohio, advised the Cincinnati office he is interested in fiying discs and has r ecentl y met several persons who claimed uO have had experiences with flying discs . He stated he intended to assist such persons in arrangi ng for public meeting in Cincinnati, at which matter s rel ating to f l ying dis cs will be discussed and that he expects the meeting will result in a "four thousand dollar take. 11 He advised he believed the experiences alleged by the persons referred to above and that those persons would participate in the meeting. He stated he had been advised by the Air Force that it was it ' s opinion claims made by the persons referred to above concer ning flying discs and their experiences with same were fraudulent . He stated he wanted t o put all federal agencies on notice in order that they could act to prevent the pl anned meeting re flying discs if it was deemed necessary by the Government.
